Vista and the FII president!

Hello...

Long time. A lot has happened since the last post. End terms. Going home and coming back. The gruelling term II has begun. And its getting painful day by day. I will elaborate as I move along.

There is this one post which I promised : a dig on Manaw. It has been put up on Vista Blog. Vista is IIMB's annual business festival. Here is the post for you :)

Hola,

Lehman went down the drain,

The Bear is already slain,

Merill was sold, Wachovia is too cold

On P – notes, SEBI did a U turn

RBI put another 50 into the magic urn,

There is more to come, I am told

But there is a new one about to unfold!

Okay. Time to shut up. Enough of business news and those sinking ships. It was just to increase your interest in the article (or whatever mudslinger of a prose you may call it). Did you guys know that we (FII) have a president out there in the middle? Yeah right, there was a small mention of his majesty here.

Poor guy no? He slogs big time for one year, does all that is required to become a president and all he gets is a mention? So here we go.

Ladies, FII proudly presents before you Mr. Manaw Mohan, the president. Gentlemen, thou shall wait till Vista gets over. Manaw has been in Sponsorship vertical of FII and has done lots of things apart from getting great deals for Vista. We shall disclose one incident when Manaw and KC (yeah we have one guy by this name) went out for some official work – yes, only work.

The high flyer president calls KC and tells him to be ready with spons pitch, posters, video and laptop in 20 mins (so generous of him :) ). They were supposed to reach Bharath Earth Movers Limited (BEML) to pitch to them. KC picked Manaw up from the street and they reached Chinnaswamy stadium. Despite that area having a fast moving traffic, it is not really difficult to locate something as big as BEML. And when your president says that its near Chinnaswamy stadium, it better be there. Well, not always.

This is what actually happened:

KC: "Dude.. You are sure that it was near Chinnaswamy stadium?"
Manaw (with the president’s air of confidence) : "Yes man.. I saw the Light towers"
KC: "Light towers? hmm... DUDE! Are you talking about the Kanteerava stadium? That also has light towers! And thats ANOTHER STADIUM"
Manaw(with all his sentiments, guilt but no remorse): "See man.. I haven't eaten anything since morning. You shud be knowing where BEML is. You are from Bangalore."
KC: "Dude. Murder are there!!"

Well, the president is always right and we are not blaming him for reaching BEML late. It’s just that one night before someone swapped Chinnaswamy and Kanteerava stadia. There are serious problems with Bangalore. Nothing is kept at the right place. Right president? :)

All said and done, the deal was sealed by the president and his best commander. Good for all of us, you know. We need the money to run the awesome show you guys are going to witness soon. But the story doesn’t end here. Given the perfectionist our president is, sometimes all of us witness an overkill. Whenever, all of us had a meeting /brainstorming session, Manaw just found out ways to insert the AT&T logo somewhere in the middle. Rumour has it, the president has got the AT&T logo tattooed on himself which will be displayed during Vista (don’t miss it). Such is the loyalty of Manaw.

And yeah, all you ladies, he is still single. As mentioned, he will be kept on display during the event. Use this opportunity to fully explore the technical details of our president. In case, you are worried with the sentimental and emaciated part – be rest assured, he is eating a lot these days. We promise to beef him up. Gentlemen, you please bear with us – we need to get footage for our president during the event. After that, he is all yours.

Vista – 3 days to go. See you there :)

The Lucky Streak!

Bangalore | 09.08.08 | 11.52 PM

A quicker entry this time. Had a good time today. A nice breakfast at a food court called Polynation. (Directions > Top floor of Lifestyle at Sony World signal, Koramangala) Partner in Crime > Piddi

There were lots of plans actually. But then it was decided that we can try out PVR and see if there are tickets. And why wouldn't we get tickets? I have been in Bangalore for more than 2 years now and there hasn't been a chance when I have gone to PVR / INOX / Random Stinking Theatre and didn't get a ticket. Sometimes there was a generous aunty or a group of college students. At others I tried to play it smart with the counter guy.

But today was exceptionally good. I didnt approach anyone. I was approached and given tickets of Singh is Kinng at the market price. The movie was decent I would day. No Brainer. Just go sit and see all of them farting around. :D

No, this is not the end. After finishing a late lunch @ the food court, we were standing on the shaking balcony of Forum ( yeah, I mean it. Go and check out). One phirang aunty came running and asked me, "you want to watch movie?" I was taken aback. I said "which one?" "Hancock"pat came the reply. "I am in a hurry and its for free. Tell me." she was gasping. I accepted it with glee. This to me, was the heights of being lucky all the time. The movie turned out be good, given the free tickets. Will Smith has done a Goood Jaaab (See the movie to get the funda) and so has Charlize Theron.

I just feel that the free ticket was because of positional advantage > us being nearer than the trash can! But, what the heck? The movie was free and I am lucky! Hope tickets shower like this all over me. Moreover, I am going to watch The Dark Knight tomorrow. Yes, this is getting too much on the edge. I am loving it. Have some work as well and there may be an L^2. Looking forward to it. :)

Fun After the Marathon!

Bangalore | 08.08.08 | 4.35 PM.

Hola,

In case you noticed the date, you would appreciate the symmetry. I love symmetry and I adore it when it sums up to 8. Now do you get the logic of sukrut26? I am sure you do. :)

So I get to write again after a hectic week. It feels good. And by hectic, it was hectic by my standards. 4 midterms in three days and screening of two movies! So much so, that on the last day I slept at 5 AM. Got up at 7 AM. Wrote one mid term at 9.30 AM. Another at 1.30 PM. And sat through two atrocious movies from 6.30 to 8.00 PM.

Here we go. Midterms over. Time to Enjaaay! But how?

Me and Pico (Now you MUST know him. Not everyday a prospective Dee Emm Ell gets a mention on this esteemed blog!) decided to hog at Mast Kalandar. Yeah, I know people reading this blog are bored of Mast Kalandar. But the author is not. In my opinion, they should name it MUST Kalandar. The Bannerghatta branch is also good and well furnished. Afterall, we needed a good break after a long time. Bumped into my classmates there. Pretty enthu lot!

Yeah yeah. I am doing what you want. Dee Emm Ell > DML > Director's Merit List > Top 5% of the batch> Something junta with low self esteem and confidence are totally obsessed with. Its like they want Aishwarya badly but keep calling everybody else Abhishek Bachhan. Now you know it all. I will keep on updating you with insider bits from this place. Everyone here writes on their T shirts, Pull Overs, Signatures, Faces, Smiles, Buckets, Towels, Toilet Mugs and of course, @$#@# that IIMB is the Place to B. :)

I was dead tired. Came and slept off. Attended the class on Thursday and for the first time found accounting class boring. But thanks to Mr. Rajesh Kumar Reddy ( yeah Dumbfuck, our Gult Hero) he came to our rescue flying all the way (with his towel on the back, soopar man ishtyle) from Hydra-Bed. We chatted for a while. (Read as raped the shit outta each other for half an hour) The next destination was the room of total ishtud-consultant-in-the-making Manaw.
Sorry, I am not going to make fun of Manaw now. Need to spend one year under his chhatrachhaya. After that, of course, Guhahahahaha. I was very sleepy, so frankly, I didnt enjoy the next hour. This is also because Soopar Reddy bores the shit out of you when he tries to socialize. :P

Finally, there was some respite. Me, Pico and Carlos (oh yes, thats also his name :) ) started for Barbeque Nation. Yeah, you got it. We started for BBQ Nation. And then got lost. Eventually found it after half an hour. The place is really good. Lots of good starters. Cordial manager. Yeah, I once again teased the waiters (Old Habits, how can they die?). The food was good. And this one time I confess, I have stopped hogging like crazy. At the cost of lying unnecessarily, I would like to state that I am a sensible guy now. (Pause for people to laugh and curse.)

We met some of our senior batch ( PGP 2s, though I would like shower my affection on them by calling them Tucchas. And why not, for they call me a fachha!). Jokes apart, a good lot they are. Awesome fun it was. We clicked some pics. Have a look. Will post the movie reviews after this. Dont want to spoil the fun. :)

Keep Rocking!
